Local Author Discusses Separation of Church and State

Alison St John (Guest Host): Some say the culture wars in America are becoming more intense, while others argue that most Americans are moderates, with little sympathy for extremes. Whether it's a battle for America's soul, or a search for the mainstream mindset of America, the question of how to interpret the first amendment is a fascinating debate.

UCSD Professor emeritus Peter Irons’ book, God on Trial takes a new look at an old question of what the separation of church and state really means. He chooses to look at it through the eyes of the people who are fighting the good fight, on both sides of the issue, in communities around the country, including San Diego.
