A water management coalition said it’s hopeful some short-term projects to improve the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta will move forward.
The list includes plans to strengthen levees, habitat restoration and water quality projects.
The project list was developed with help from the Center for Collaborative Policy at Sacramento State University. The Center’s Executive Director Susan Sherry said it’s not up to the coalition to decide which projects get off the ground.
“We wanted to give this list to the agencies who do prioritize and the agencies that do have the money, and the agencies that could in the future get money and give them a group of projects that the constituencies that normally disagree with each other agree on,” explained Sherry.
The list of 43 projects has been presented to the legislature, the Delta Stewardship Council, and the Department of Water Resources.
