Virginia Tech Students Head Back to Class

Virginia Tech students began their fall classes Monday, four months after the worst school shooting in U.S. history. But as fall semester began, the school's community dealt with more bad news. A carbon monoxide leak Sunday left five roommates hospitalized — two of them are still in critical condition.

News of the leak came as other students took part in the dedication of a memorial to the victims of the attack. On April 16, a student named Seung-Hui Cho opened fire on his classmates and professors. He killed 32 people before taking his own life.

Aydin Akyurtlu, news director of the campus radio station, talks about returning to school. His station, WUVT, issued some of the first reports from campus.
