Law enforcement around San Diego County will be out in full force this Fourth of July weekend, hoping to curb drunken drivers.
"Driving while drunk isn't worth the tremendous risk. No matter your age, if you've had too much holiday spirit, you'd better find a safe and sober ride home or you chances of arrest are high," said Chief William Lansdowne of the San Diego Police Department.
The holiday crackdown will include police, sheriff and California Highway Patrol checkpoints, as well as extra officers and deputies on patrol in cruisers and motorcycles looking for drunken drivers.
Last Fourth of July weekend, there were 30 DUI-related deaths and 363 injuries related to drunken driving throughout the state.
