Each year, The House of Lebanon hosts their annual Lawn Program. The Entertainment is provided by different folk dance groups every year that will perform Folk Dances in regional native costumes. In addition to folkloric dance, local Lebanese artist will perform tradition song, music and poetry depicting the Lebanese heritage and Culture. The House of Lebanon serves a wide selection of traditional Lebanese “Meza”. San Diego’s arts community is rallying to support their Los Angeles counterparts who lost studios, homes, and livelihoods in the devastating Pacific Palisades and Altadena wildfires. This spring, Union Hall Gallery will host a two-weekend Fine Art and Craft Sale on Friday, April 4 – Sunday, April 6 and Friday, April 11 – Sunday, April 13, featuring over 400 donated pieces spanning painting, sculpture, ceramics, textiles, and more, to raise funds for the LA art community. One hundred percent of proceeds from the sale will directly benefit the Grief and Hope: LA Art World Fire Relief Fund, providing funds to artists and art workers following the January 2025 fires. Featured in the sale are renowned artists like Italo Scanga, Paula Wittner, James Hubbell, Larry Groff, Margaret Larlham, Jane Culp, and Joe Garcia, alongside emerging voices, university students, tattoo artists, and fiber artists. Inside the 2,500-square-foot space, the sale will feel like an immersive gallery experience, with pieces rotated as they sell—encouraging visitors to return throughout the event. Hosted by Air Force combat veteran Stacy Pearsall, the series reveals the experiences of 21 diverse veterans from across the country. Conversations about life before, during and after action provide a deeper appreciation for those who’ve served.

A house is more than a container for the things we spend a lifetime collecting, storing, arranging, and insuring. It is the repository of our memories, the life we spend there. We will make an accordion book with text and images of your home and/or family members or ancestors that reflect your perceptions, memories, family relations, and personal history. The structure of the pages will reflect the book’s subject, with openings that represent doors, windows, and the movement from room to room inside a house. Materials: Cutting knife, stylus (for scoring), sharp pencils, a good eraser (Pink Pearl is good), glue (UHU glue stick or PVA & brush or small roller), 12” ruler, scissors. In addition, you will want to bring room layout drawings, photographs, and/or black-and-white-on-paper printouts of your home or other drawings of the interior or exterior (sizes to be emailed once you have registered). Optional/recommended: 12” centering ruler, bench hook with cutting mat (9” x 12” cutting mat size is ideal), bone folder. Materials for the pages and cover will be provided to create the books. If you do not have personal images or drawings, images relating to “house-ness” will be available for completing the book.
