Puppeteers for Fears is an Oregon-based comedy troupe, specializing in original horror and science fiction rock’n’roll musicals performed with puppets. The company was founded as a one-night-only cabaret show for Halloween 2015, but was so popular that it kept going and never looked back. In the time since, PFF has written and performed a half-dozen original feature musicals covering everything from supernatural monsters to killer robots to lonely sasquatches, performed all over the US on six tours, and sold out venues nationwide with its innovative and hilarious combination of puppetry, video, and live music. Two Another are Eliot Porter and Angus Campbell, a musical duo originating from Sydney, Australia. Their kaleidoscopic mix of Electronic, Alternate RnB, Indie Pop and Soul has been heard across the globe since joining forces in 2015, amassing a following of over 1.8 million monthly listeners and over 400 million streams to date, with tour dates spanning across Europe, the Americas, the UK and back home in Australia. Now based in Europe, the band’s global origin story lies under the Australian sun with Eliot and Angus meeting in their high school music program where they were taught audio production by hometown dance-music-icons Bag Raiders. The pair quickly bonded over a mutual love of D’Angelo, Daft Punk and Danger Mouse. “Growing up in that golden era of indie, Ed Banger and French Touch, we shared a love of 90s electronica, dance and hip hop, and our parent’s Motown records,” says Angus, “There was a lot to be inspired by.” The duo’s recordings have since gone on to achieve significant success, accumulating hundreds of millions of streams of their EPs "Another Tape" and "Two Sides," followed by their debut album "Back To Us." Their versatility is evident in their remixes and collaborations with artists like Young Franco, Portugal The Man, The Magician, and Claptone. On stage Two Another creates an undeniable connection with any audience they are put in front of. They will release their second full length album, ‘SUBURBIA’ in the Fall alongside their first ever World Tour. The new album is a coming-of-age story that follows fictional characters through their challenges and triumphs of navigating the final four years of high school in the suburbs. This musical odyssey unfolds through four distinct EPs — "FRESHMAN," "SOPHOMORE," "JUNIOR," "SENIOR" — and culminates in the collected works released at the "SUBURBIA LP." This year’s theme, “Love in All Its Forms,” highlights the many facets of human connection—friendship, passion, solidarity, and resilience—through a compelling selection of French and francophone films. Festival Highlights Opening Night Gala – May 4 The festival launches with a glamorous red-carpet event and gala reception, featuring the screening of *En Fanfare* (*The Marching Band*, 2024). Directed by Emmanuel Courcol, this critically acclaimed drama tells the moving story of two estranged brothers brought together by music and an unexpected family discovery. The film, which received seven César Award nominations, stars Benjamin Lavernhe and Pierre Lottin. Following the screening, guests will enjoy gourmet hors d'oeuvres, champagne, live entertainment, and a dance party with DJ GreGTraXx. The film explores unexpected connections and personal transformation through the story of a journalist who reluctantly takes in a young Afghan refugee. Closing Night – May 7 The festival concludes with RU (2023, Canada), a poignant adaptation of Kim Thuy’s acclaimed novel. Directed by Charles-Olivier Michaud, the film follows a young Vietnamese girl and her family as they flee war-torn Vietnam and rebuild their lives in Quebec. With multiple award nominations, "RU" is a deeply moving story of exile, adaptation, and resilience. Families outside of Wild Sage are welcome to join us as well – if the Wednesday schedule fits your needs, feel free to register. Kids will enjoy the same engaging curriculum featured in our after-school art program. Parents are welcome to drop off their child for class or stay in the room during the hour while students create.
