The Coronado School of the Arts (CoSA) has assembled some of the best teachers in Southern California to lead fun and inspiring art camps for students. Join us for two weeks of Summer fun, making friends, and making art! CoSA Summer Arts Camps are July 7-18, 2025 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. weekdays. Camps meet on the campus of Coronado High School and will culminate in an open exhibition/performance of creative works for families to enjoy in the last hour of the last day. Stretch Affect, known for their concierge physical therapy and movement optimization, is throwing a Grand Opening Fundraiser this Sunday May 18 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at their new 10,000-square-foot facility in Sorrento Mesa (9945 Pacific Heights Blvd, San Diego, CA 92121). The event aims to raise $50,000 for the Challenged Athletes Foundation and will feature a Paralympian guest speaker, and a live auction boasting signed sports memorabilia, training packages, travel getaways, and more to further help propel fundraising efforts. The fundraiser will also include demonstrations of wheelchair tennis and racing, and hands-on access to state-of-the-art fitness and recovery technology—including DEXA scans, 3-D motion capture from Kinotek, and interactive showcases by Blazepod, Gibbons, Matrix, and Hyperice. Families can enjoy a kid-friendly zone with inflatables and games, while attendees can explore supercars from Fast Lane Drive, sample food from Glass Box, and receive water bottles from Fill-It-Forward to support clean water initiatives worldwide. All Levels Wheel Throwing (Sep. 6 – Oct. 11, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.) Class Schedule Saturdays, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Six-Week Session September 6, 13, 20, 27, October 4, 11 Teaching Artist: Max Anderson Description With a main focus on functional pottery, beginner students will learn how to use the equipment in the studio and how to use the wheel while more advanced students will further use the wheel as a tool to create work made partially or entirely from thrown forms. All students will be encouraged to experiment with surface and altering techniques to transform their work from pots to functional works of art. Students will leave the class with finished work they can use at home that’s dishwasher safe!
