Mr. Cesarini will help us explore the Italian restaurants, grocery stores, home design stores, art galleries and residential units that exist there today. At 2:30 p.m. "Ukraine As Seen By A Youth at the Border" Ivan Chana, Rotary Exchange Student. Ivan Chana is a Ukranian youth who has grown up amid the chaos and war of Ukraine. Join us for the Opening reception of the Solo Exhibition "A Mes Yeux" by Minnie Valero at the Alliance Française San Diego, on February 5 at 6.30 p.m. Meet the artist, and connect around light refreshments. À Mes Yeux: In this solo exhibition, Minnie Valero presents paintings in various mediums, inspired by her frequent stays in France and the lasting impressions they left on her. About the artist: Minnie Valero, born in Argentina, is an accomplished artist with degrees from both Argentinian and American universities, including a Master’s from UCLA. Over the past 20 years, she has exhibited her work widely across the United States, France, and other European countries, as well as in Egypt, China, and South Korea. Honored as a guest at the Nepal International Watercolor Festival, Minnie has received numerous awards in France, South Korea, and the U.S. She has also participated in prestigious artist residencies in Sweden, Italy, Hungary, Costa Rica, and China, each culminating in a solo exhibition. Working with watercolor, acrylic, oil, and pastel, Minnie adapts her medium to reflect the essence of each piece. As a conceptual artist, her creations range from representational to abstract, guided by her emotions, mood, and inspiration. This watercolor class is about understanding the color, organization, and beauty of flowers. They can be so inspiring from which to paint! We will paint from real flowers as well as from photos, since some flowers do not last long when picked or they aren’t available. To capture their beauty, we will experiment with a variety of techniques and approaches. I encourage you to watch the demonstrations and then explore your own way of putting brush to paper. Please bring tube paints only and not paint pans. Be prepared to paint on the first day.
