  • OTC at the Brooks presents a screening of "Shredding: A New Lens in Surf Filmmaking" on Friday, July 25 at 8 p.m. at the historic Sunshine Brooks Theater (217 N. Coast Highway, Oceanside, CA)! "Shredding" is a powerful short surf film program that challenges outdated stereotypes about who belongs in surf culture. From Morocco to Palestine to the California coast, these films spotlight surfers whose presence on the water redefines what it means to “shred.” Through stories of access, identity, and resilience, "Shredding" celebrates a new wave of surfers expanding the sport’s image—and invites audiences to reimagine surf culture as a space of joy, freedom, and connection. This special screening features work by filmmakers Rabbi Chel Mandell, Lo Frentz, Serra Soyupak, Peter Williams, Dörthe Eickelberg, Nesrine Majzoub, Zachary Zezima, Yusuf Demirörs, and Arne JinAn Wong.
