This exhibition serves as the capstone project for MiraCosta College’s Museum Studies program. Students in the program have developed, researched, curated, publicized, and installed this exhibition as part of their coursework in Art 271, Museum and Gallery Exhibition. Imagine those candies with tiny images inside or clay pieces that seem to have images embedded within them - that's the magic of cane making! It involves constructing a larger image with your material and then condensing it into a long cane shape. When sliced, the image is revealed in a smaller format, creating stunning visual effects. Canes can range from simple to complex, easy to challenging, and can be manipulated in countless ways. Whether you prefer geometric designs or intricate picture canes, the possibilities are endless.
