in^set is a flexible chamber ensemble founded in 2018 by David Aguila (trumpet), Teresa Díaz de Cossio (flute), and Ilana Waniuk (violin), dedicated to creation, improvisation, and experimentation. Committed to expanding instrumental practice beyond the confines of contemporary classical music, in^set explores the sonic and visual possibilities of everyday objects, hacked electronics, graphic notation, and hybrid media. "Traces in Sound and Light" is a program that traverses the spaces between acoustic and electronic, composed and improvised, visual and sonic. Featuring works by Nathan Haering, Melissa Vargas Franco, and in^set members Aguila, Díaz de Cossio, and Waniuk. The concert culminates in the premiere of a new work by Jacques Zafra. Saturday mornings are made for Weekend Edition Saturday, the program wraps up the week's news and offers a mix of analysis and features on a wide range of topics, including arts, sports, entertainment, and human interest stories. The two-hour program is hosted by NPR's Peabody Award-winning Scott Simon.

Drawing on his experience in covering 10 wars and stories in all 50 states and seven continents, Simon brings a humorous, sophisticated and often moving perspective to each show. He is as comfortable having a conversation with a major world leader as he is talking with a Hollywood celebrity or the guy next door.

Weekend Edition Saturday has a unique and entertaining roster of other regular contributors. Marin Alsop, conductor of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, talks about music. Shaw is executive director of San Diego ART Matters, an advocacy and arts service provider to the region’s nonprofit arts and culture sector. As executive director, she serves as the organization’s chief strategist, spokesperson, and champion for SDAM’s mission – to strengthen San Diego’s creative ecosystem and advocate for greater public and private investment in the people and institutions that make our region’s arts and culture sector thrive. With a career spanning over three decades, Felicia has served in several executive and director-level leadership positions, including the Women’s Museum of California, the Regional Arts Commission of St. Louis, the San Diego Foundation, and the City of San Diego Commission for Arts and Culture. Felicia’s commitment to the arts includes volunteer leadership positions within various cultural organizations. She is an appointee to the San Diego County Commission for Arts and Culture, where she chairs the agency’s Strategic Planning Committee. She serves on the boards and finance committees of the Mingei International Museum and Moxie Theatre and is also board Chair of California for the Arts, a statewide advocacy organization. A graduate of Northwestern University with a degree in Communications, Felicia completed additional undergraduate study at UC San Diego, majoring in art history, theory, and criticism. King Stingray is a story of lifelong friendship. Growing up together in Yirrkala North-East Arnhem Land (a very remote Aboriginal community on in the northern tip of Australia) founding members Theo Dimathaya Burarrwanga (frontman) and Roy Kellaway (guitar) have been playing and making music together for as long as they can remember. The band blend ancient indigenous melodies (Yolŋu Manikay) with surf, indie and funk influences to create their unique “Yolŋu surf-rock” sound which has captivated the nation. Hailed as "one of the most exciting acts in the country today" (NME), King Stingray took out triple j's "Unearthed Artist of the Year" J Award for 2021, NME Australia's "Best New Act From Australia" and Rolling Stone Australia's "Best New Artist" award all before an album was released. Their much-anticipated debut LP "King Stingray" dropped in August 2022, supported by a typically cheeky campaign encouraging fans to take #kingstingday off to celebrate the album’s release. The band was nominated for a whopping five ARIA Awards (including a win for the "Michael Gudinski Breakthrough Artist"). In 2023 the band won the "Australian Music Prize."
