Peninsula Community Senior Center (PCSC), formerly Peninsula Shepherd Center, is pleased to announce our Summer Celebration, Saturday, June 14, 2025! PCSC’s annual fundraiser, Summer Celebration proceeds will go toward enhancing PCSC Aging in Place programs and services for older adults. Thank you for considering donating to the Peninsula Community Senior Center for the Opportunity Drawing and Silent Auction. Donations such as gift cards, coupons, gift baskets and merchandise are always appreciated by our guests. This year’s event, Summer Celebration, will include a delicious luncheon, entertainment, door prizes, an Opportunity Drawing, Live and Silent Auctions and Vendor Fair at All Souls’ Episcopal Church’s Gooden Hall and Patio. PCSC’s mission is to provide a support system that helps older adults remain independent and in their own homes for as long as possible. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to improving the quality of life of older adults in the Peninsula Communities of Point Loma, Ocean Beach and the Midway-Sports Arena District of San Diego. The Gratitude Collective is a community of women who support KPBS’ vision to connect, reflect and serve the San Diego region. Members of the Gratitude Collective are superfans of KPBS and prioritize their philanthropy in support of our commitment to local news, arts and culture, children’s programming, and community engagement and representation via dialogue and events. The Gratitude Collective provides a space for lifelong learning and connection via quarterly experiences such as speaking engagements with women leaders in various fields, social events and KPBS community meetings.

For over 20 years, the Maritime Museum of San Diego has been proud to host popular, award-winning educational events that provide exceptional hands-on learning experiences for youth and student groups year-round. Scouts BSA youth are invited to earn their Oceanography Merit Badge at the Maritime Museum of San Diego by attending one of three engaging Saturday classes. Each session runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and scouts need only attend one class to complete the badge requirements. This unique program gives local scouts a chance to dive deep into oceanography—right in the heart of San Diego’s waterfront. Through a dynamic mix of field work, hands-on lab activities, and thought-provoking discussion, Oceanography Merit Badge Days immerse participants in the many branches of oceanographic research. Each scout or group must be accompanied by at least one parent or adult chaperone. All Scouts BSA Youth Protection guidelines must be followed. Reservations must be made online in advance. Space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Contact your troop leader ahead of time to request your Oceanography Merit Badge and bring your signed Blue Card to class. Ensure at least one adult leader accompanies each scout or group. Tickets also include general admission so you may stay after class to explore the Museum fleet and all of the below-deck exhibits! $59.00 per participating scout. $24.00 per accompanying adult. The San Diego chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers presents the ASID Kitchen and Bath Tour 2025. The self-guided tour will feature eight beautifully designed homes in San Diego with newly remodeled kitchens and baths. The tour will showcase an array of styles, tastes, lifestyles, and personal preferences and demonstrate the effectiveness of professional interior design in meeting specific objectives. Projects feature the latest trends in flooring, surfaces, appliances, cabinetry, color, lighting, sustainability, furniture, technology and universal design. The homes on tour, which range from sleek modern to mid-century to traditional, reflect their owners' personalities, budgets, and lifestyles. Advance tickets are $40 per person, and group discounts are available. Day-of-event tickets are $50. Tour guests need to check in at Porcelanosa, 8996 Miramar Road, Suite 100, San Diego, on Saturday, May 3, beginning at 8:45 a.m., where they will be given a wristband for entry to each home, a tour map, and a description of each project.
