How will 9/11 impact the immigration debate? For months, the national conversation has been about changing immigration laws. The topic hit the front page of newspapers, led television and radio broadcasts, and the agenda for congressional debates. But will the 9/11 anniversary move immigration out of the political spotlight?
Hillcrest Development
A proposed 12 story building in Hillcrest is dividing the community. It’s called 301 University and will house 96 condominiums and retail stores on the ground floor. What’s behind the development and what impact will it have on Hillcrest?
Airport Authority
A ballot measure naming Miramar as the site for a new civilian airport is not being widely embraced, particularly by the military. However, the business community seems to favor the idea. With an unclear ballot measure, some ethical questions, and a senator asking if it’s needed, the Airport Authority is under pressure.
