Chargers Look to Oceanside for Stadium

The Chargers are still looking for a suitable home in San Diego. We’ll speak with several sources about why Oceanside could be the possible new home of the Chargers.

Chargers Look to Oceanside for Stadium

Tom Fudge: This year is a crucial one for determining whether the San Diego Chargers will remain in San Diego. The football team wants a new stadium, and San Diego city officials say they can't help them build one. So, the Chargers are exploring the possibility of locating a stadium in the San Diego suburbs. A lot of attention has been focused on Chula Vista and National City. But Oceanside has emerged as another possibility.

Team President Dean Spanos has said he likes Oceanside as a possible site, given its proximity to Orange County and its potential fan base. Oceanside city officials have identified a city-owned golf course, about a mile inland, that could be redeveloped into a stadium site.
