Department of Homeland Security Increases Funding for San Diego

Alison St John (Guest Host): San Diegans might feel a little safer today knowing the region has not been left out in the cold by the Department of Homeland Security. Yesterday San Diego got the news that it will get $16 million of federal money this year to help prepare for a disaster, natural or man-made. This was a major relief for Mayor Jerry Sanders. He's made four lobbying trips to Washington in the last year, after hearing San Diego was bumped off a list of cities eligible for federal homeland security funding.
