Pulitzer Prize-Winning Novelist Skewers Hollywood

Audio

Aired 4/19/09

Tom Fudge:  You could say that Jane Smiley is a member of a very elite literary club.  Her novel A Thousand Acres won the Pulitzer Prize.  She's written 12 novels in all.  And she's written a highly acclaimed book of literary criticism called Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Novel .

Now she has a new book out.  This work of fiction is in the Hollywood Hills, and it features a motley crew of movie industry types and hangers on.  The novel is called Ten Days in the Hills .

Jane Smiley will be signing copies of Ten Days in the Hills Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Warwick’s bookstore in La Jolla.

Guest

  • Jane Smiley, author of 12 works of fiction, including the Pulitzer Prize-winning A Thousand Acres and her latest book, Ten Days in the Hills
