Scientists from the Scripps Institution of Oceanography plan to present their latest research at the Copenhagen Climate Change Summit.

The four researchers plan to present negotiators at the summit with the latest evidence on ocean acidification and black carbon among other issues related to climate change.

Along with the scientists, UCSD is sending four students to Copenhagen for the United Nations Climate Change Conference which begins next week.

Tony Haymet, director of the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, said, "We're going as a scientific resource. So we're going armed with papers that have already been published by Professor Ramanthan and Richard Somerville and our researchers who are studying ocean acidification."

The researchers join other scientists as they talk with international negotiators on policy decisions that could dictate the world's response to climate change.
