Mayor Sanders Set To Deliver Final State Of The City

Mayor Jerry Sanders is scheduled to deliver his final State of the City address tonight, when he's expected to provide updates on major municipal construction projects.

Sanders -- who will leave office in December following two terms -- is also expected to announce new donations that will fund the completion of the new Central Library in the East Village.

More than $25 million was needed for the project's second phase as of the end of September, when the City Council was last informed about the progress of fundraising.

Sanders is also expected to push for financing plans to build a new stadium for the Chargers and expand the San Diego Convention Center. He will also call for elimination of the structural deficit when the next fiscal year's budget is adopted in June.

For those who can't make it to the Balboa Theatre in downtown San Diego, the speech will be aired on City-TV one hour after its conclusion and shown occasionally on the cable channel over the next few weeks.

When the new library opens downtown, I am going to be **extremely** angry if that snot Carl DeMaio is participating in the festivities.

He has been a major roadblock against this project, and he said it was impossible to raise the rest of the money.

He also scared tax payers into thinking we would be on the hook for the remainder of the cost.

Like other stunts Dirty DeMaio has pulled in the past, his childish tantrums over the library proved to be unfounded and now he has egg on his face.

What irks me is not that DeMaio is against certain projects, it's that he **only** supports things being built by his big developer buddies like Manchester and his shanty towers.

Dirty DeMaio has never supported any civic projects or infrastructure, he only supports the vanity towers built by millionaire charlatans like his pal "papa Doug".

Can you picture a mayor DeMaio??

He would be a puppet for Manchester. It's horrid enough Manchester and his right wing agenda now controls the journalistically void Union Tribune, but now it's possible Manchester will be running the city through his cronie Carl DeMaio.

For those of you who think Sanders was bad, you ain't seen nothin yet, my dears!

San Diego could deteriorate much, much further with a mayor DeMaio.
