Great neighborhoods, great food, and great fun are all ahead this weekend.

There’s a lot of good food to be had in San Diego. This weekend we're suggesting a handful of places that we think will not only delight your taste-buds, but will also provide quality venues to enjoy the company of family and friends.

Monello, a new restaurant in Little Italy, is serving up great Italian food. Started by the same family behind Bencotto Italian Kitchen, Monello has a great happy hour, that they officially call Milanese Aperitivo, Tuesday through Friday nights from 4 to 7 pm. With this happy hour, when you order a drink they present you with small plates of delicious food. Another great dining opportunity at Monello can be found Saturday’s and Sunday’s when they have a Farmer’s Market Brunch. Try out this great restaurant, in one of San Diego’s hippest neighborhoods.

If you’ve been searching for the tastiest and most authentic tonkotsu ramen, this side of Japan, then look no further than Ramen Yamadaya, on Clairemont Mesa Blvd. One of six locations scattered across Southern California, Ramen Yamadaya specializes in “20 hour “ tonkotsu ramen that at its base is an extremely rich-flavored pork bone broth. They also offer other ramen choices and some yummy Japanese bento boxes. Open Daily for lunch and dinner.

The SONO Park Holiday Festival and Chilipalooza is this Sunday from 11 to 5 at 32nd and Thorn. This holiday festival brings the great neighborhoods of South and North Park together for a fun day of music, craft beers, wine garden, holiday shopping, kid’s zone, and some of the most delicious chili around. If any event in San Diego has something to be enjoyed by most everyone, this is it. You can check out their video here.

What’s the BFD? Well, on Park Blvd., it’s Big Front Door. If you're tired of boring sandwiches, then you need to head over to this neighborhood deli. You’ll find creative and delicious food, where gourmet dining meets sandwich shop. In addition to numerous sandwich choices, check out their great salads, too. They also have an in-house retail specialty wine and craft beer shop. Open daily from 11 am to 8 pm.

Good food and good times this weekend in San Diego -- enjoy!
