Camp Pendleton Training Exercise To Be Heard 50 Miles Away

Marine Corps aircraft units will drop 500 pounds of high explosive bombs as part of training at Camp Pendleton Thursday, base officials said.
The training will take place in the Zulu impact area, near the center of North County base, from noon to 2 p.m., according to Camp Pendleton's public affairs office.
During the training, loud booms may be heard up to 50 miles away.
