The corruption probe that brought down San Diego Congressman Randy Cunningham is far from over. Federal attorneys say they expect more charges to be filed. The congressman pleaded guilty Monday to accepting $2.4 million worth of bribes. Cunningham faces up to ten years in prison when he's sentenced in February.Assistant U.S. Attorney Phil Halpern says other people involved in the case have yet to be charged.
Halpern: "The government has specifically identified that there are at least four co-conspirators involved with Congressman Cunningham."
Cunningham's plea agreement doesn't identify those men, but they are widely thought to be former MZM President Mitchell Wade, Poway defense contractor Brent Wilkes, and New York developer Thomas Kontogiannis and his wife's nephew.
