Earthquake insurance sales rise in CA following Katrina

KPBS' Dwane Brown speaks with Nancy Kincaid of the California Earthquake Authority about the rise in earthquake insurance sales since the recent natural disasters.

Some of the lessons from Hurricane Katrina are still washing ashore here in California. In the Gulf States, many residents learned the hard way about the need for flood insurance. In California, that lesson applies to earthquake insurance. Nancy Kincaid is with the California Earthquake Authority and she says homeowners are seeing more natural disasters and the need to buy more insurance.
