A new report by the non-profit group Environment California finds the pollution that causes global warming is a rapidly growing problem in the Golden State. The study was released in Chula Vista, where city officials say they've done their part to reduce pollution. KPBS reporter Beth Ford Roth has more.
The study finds carbon dioxide, or CO2, emissions have increased 85-percent in California between 1960 and 2001. Environment California is calling for support of state legislation that would curb emissions from a variety of sources.
Chula Vista Mayor Steve Padilla says cities and small towns can also make a difference in cutting pollution.

The report says power plants are the biggest source of CO2 emissions, with passenger vehicles coming in second. Beth Ford Roth, KPBS Hews.
