San Diego City Councilman Jim Madaffer says he plans to meet with SDSU officials to discuss the future of school's master plan. A California Supreme Court ruling could mean the University will have to pay for roads, water pipes and sewer lines as the school expands.
Madaffer says he wants to see the school grow, but he thinks it should help pay for upgrades off campus. He plans to meet with school president Stephen Webber soon.
Madaffer: It is the flagship of all the CSU campuses. I'm very proud that its in my council district. And I wanna work with doctor Webber and the administration anyway I can along with the residents that surround the University to make sure we have a win win for everybody.
San Diego State University officials say the court decision will not kill the University's master plan. A spokesman says school officials hope to have a clear understanding of the court ruling's impact by next week.
