Author Shares His Experience of Traveling the World
Alison St John (Guest Host): It's nearly time for summer vacation, time for trips to new places, perhaps maybe even abroad. Do you plan your trips around visits to the beach, or to museums, or the most famous tourist destinations? Or have you considered going somewhere you've never been before and left some time empty, just to see what would happen? James Clapp, a former professor at San Diego State University, has written a memoir of his travels to more than 60 countries over the past 25 years. It's called The Stranger is Me: Travels and Self-Discoveries . And it has some good insights for getting the most out of being somewhere new and unfamiliar.
