94.9's Michael Halloran joins us to talk about The White Stripes, a British band called The Noisettes, and the musical legacy of Sting, in the form of his son, Joe Sumner

Tom Fudge: Today's music may or may not be your father's rock and roll. There are a lot of new bands that have made names for themselves. They are innovative in terms of style, instrumentation and vocals. But the broad influences of R&B, punk rock and country are hard to miss. In fact, the next generation of musicians includes some sons and daughters of the stars of the past. That's just one thing you'll learn as we talk about what's new on the music scene.

The White Stripes will play at the Embarcadero on Tuesday, September 18 ^th .
