San Diego Gas Prices Are Highest Ever Recorded For November
San Diego's average price for a gallon of gas is higher now than it has ever been in November. The Utility Consumers Action Network tracks pump prices at hundreds of local gas stations.
U-CAN's Charles Langley says prices jumped about a dime a gallon last week and he doesn't expect the trend to reverse itself.
Langley : It’s looking like they're going to continue to climb up and what's scary about this is that this is the highest price ever in a November. Ever in gasoline history in San Diego County. We've got that in concert with high oil prices. And this is just a recipe for very high prices for a very long time.
Langley says high fuel prices could also ripple through the rest of the economy. He says diesel fuel is selling for $3.60 a gallon. That's up 45 cents in the last month. That could fuel inflation as prices of goods go up to cover the cost of gas and diesel.
