Another Tuesday, another Primary

You can tell when the Primary season has gone on a little too long. It's when Morning Edition does no stories about the Primaries. Of course, Primary stories were in the newscasts this morning and I'm sure we'll hear quite a bit about election results tomorrow. But nothing today! In fact, it was kind of refreshing to get off this year's political express just long enough to hear how one of our most famous Presidents started his administration. Hearing about the start of Franklin Delano Roosevelt's term of office was like a breath of fresh air, even if the story is 75 years old.

Speaking of old stories with a new twist, Ana Tintocalis did an interesting feature this morning about the battle in Calexico over Mexican children in US schools . Californians on both sides have been debating this for years. But, hearing how the residents of a small border town are dealing with the issue really focused the controversy.

If there's any city in the country that does not need faulty water pipes, I guess it would have to be New Orleans. But the Big Easy is also the Big Leaky . The story is interesting, but I was really grabbed by the voice of one of the people interviewed for the piece. Talk about a New Orleans drawl! I didn't know anyone could speak that slowly.

I predict some Primary stories tomorrow. In fact, I would actually bet on it.
