Governor Schwarzenegger pounded on lawmakers for attending their party conventions and failing to pass a budget.
He said legislators are not being held accountable for the record-long budget impasse
Schwarzenegger: They go on vacation, they go on recess. They go home on the weekends and have their two days off because God forbid they have to work through the weekend. And they go to the various different conventions and do their things and business as usual!
However, lawmakers did meet last weekend to finish work on bills.
The governor is planning to meet with Republican lawmakers next week to talk about the budget.
Lawmakers have been grappling for months over how to fill a 15-billion-dollar shortfall.
