Tom Fudge: Santa Ana winds, that blow in from the desert are not going away. We'll still be at risk of them for the next few weeks, and that means wildfires remain a threat. And as you prepare for the possibility of evacuation from your home, you might make plans for what to do with your pets if you have pets. Last year, tens of thousands of San Diegans were chased from their neighborhoods due to spreading fires. And dealing with the cat, the dog, the horse, even the guinea pig became a strong consideration.
Here on These Days , we spend some time every month focusing on pets, their needs and the needs of the people who own them. We're doing that today, and we begin by talking about what to do with pets in an emergency .
