F-18 Crash Stirs Community
Tom Fudge : Yesterday an F-18 fighter jet had taken off from the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln, just off the coast of San Diego, when one of its engines failed. The student pilot was heading for Miramar airfield in San Diego for an emergency landing when the other engine failed. The pilot ejected and his plane plowed into a residential neighborhood called University City. The plane destroyed two homes and killed at least three people: a grandmother, a mother and one of her children. The second child is still missing, possibly in the rubble.
