Maureen Cavanaugh : Suppose you see a traffic accident. You run to help and you actually manage to pull a victim from a car you think is about to explode. Do you get a medal? Or do you get slapped with a lawsuit? A recent decision by the California Supreme Court makes the lawsuit a distinct possibility.
