Chapter Synopsis
Nayeli sank into the kiddie pool, while the others slept. She thought about her day and how she had failed her mission. She had lost Yolo, Matt, and La Vampi, and with La Osa here she had now been demoted.
The girls arrived at the Bahia Hotel on Mission Bay with Atómiko, Angel, and El Brujo. The girls greet Irma while the boys wait outside. Irma walks out to the boys sizing them up. She is not pleased with what the girls have gathered so far, but decides to let them stay. Nayeli arrives at Chava’s house sent by La Osa to retrieve him. He is scared to face Irma, but is finally convinced by Nayeli to come help with the mission. He must help Irma finish the recruitment, while Nayeli goes to Kankakee to find her father. Irma rents a conference room at the Bahia to use as a room for interviewing men for the mission. She gives Nayeli a Bank of America debit card to fund her trip to Kankakee. Matt plots Nayeli and Tacho’s trip to Kankakee for them, but makes them promise they will stop at Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. They promise and the next morning pull out before anyone is awake.
