The San Diego Chargers will remain in San Diego for another year.
Chargers special counsel Mark Fabiani said the team will not trigger the exit clause in their Qualcomm Stadium lease.
Each year through 2020, the Chargers can announce intentions to leave if they pay off bonds sold to expand Qualcomm in 1997.
Fabiani said the team will continue to work on stadium solutions.
"The team is continuing to work, as we have for more than a decade, on stadium solutions in San Diego, and we will not be triggering the out clause in our lease in 2014,” he said in a written statement.
