San Diegans are invited to gather aboard the USS Midway Museum flight deck starting at 6:30 Friday night to watch the Sochi Olympics Opening Ceremony and to cheer on Team USA.

As the Parade of Nations streams across the big screens, located both inside and outside, families are invited to try some Olympic-style sports themselves, such as speed skating and curling.
The free family-fun event also features a snow-play area, Russian-inspired cocktails and food, and an opportunity to meet Olympic and Paralympics athletes.
Event organizers encourage guests to dress warmly, and bring a chair and blanket.
