Three more headless bodies were found in Tijuana this morning. That brings the total number of decapitated corpses discovered in the city to four during the last 24 hours.
Today's bodies were dumped in a vacant lot in the eastern part of the city. State law enforcement officials in Tijuana say a message attached to the corpses said, "We belong to the weakened Engineer."
"The Engineer" is the nickname of the presumed leader of Tijuana's Arellano Felix Cartel, Fernando Sanchez Arellano.
Last week, authorities and people who study drug trafficking in Tijuana predicted a new wave of drug violence could hit the city. That after a man presumed to be a high ranking cartel assassin was arrested and after the General in charge of federal law enforcement authorities was replaced.
