The students gathered on the state Capitol steps before heading inside to lobby lawmakers. They included UC Davis Student Body President Adam Thongsavat.
"We understand the state has a revenue problem," stated Thongsavat. "What we're saying is let us help you find a solution, because we are fed up with getting the runaround, getting cuts and being on the brunt of it. We are being proactive." Among the students' proposals are tax increases and changes to the state's tax law Prop 13.
The students' lobbying effort comes during a week when protests on college campuses around California have intensified-and on the same day that California State University trustees approved a nine percent tuition increase.
