Once Exemplary, Tal Afar Returns to Violence

A year ago, President Bush spoke of Tal Afar as a model of success in Iraq, but recent sectarian violence there suggests that the calm that American troops achieved has not endured.

Melissa Block talks with Moni Basu, a reporter for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, who has been embedded with troops in Tal Afar, Iraq, since February.
