Google Sets Out to Map the Crisis in Darfur

In an unusual partnership, Google Earth has joined with the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum to focus its high-tech lens and high-powered search on the atrocities in Darfur.

The goal of the project, launched Tuesday, is to inform and motivate users to help governments and other groups to deal with the humanitarian crisis there. It's estimated more than 2 million people have been uprooted and about 200,000 killed in Sudan since 2003.
