In Southern California, there are plenty of reminders about the need to be prepared for emergencies — maybe too many.

People are used to hearing about how important it is to be ready for the next earthquake or the next wildfire. And they're used to postponing or even ignoring the message.

But now, in the aftermath of the 6.0-magnitude Napa earthquake, as we approach wildfire season and during the anniversary week of 9/11 it might be time to finally heed the message. The Federal Emergency Management Agency and San Diego Fire join us during National Preparedness Month to share how you and your family can prepare for an emergency before disaster strikes.
