Whether it's immigration or the legitimacy of elections, politics and our democracy are at the center of many debates.
But, the University of San Diego political scientists who host the podcast, "A Few Reasonable Words" believe there is important perspective missing from the national dialogue.
"We all think about American politics from a slightly different angle and we always have something to teach each other and we wanted to have those conversations for our students and for the public and that's why we started the podcast," co-host Casey Dominguez, an associate professor of political science and international relations, at the University of San Diego said.
"'A Few Reasonable Words' is a bunch of words but it's trying to get us past talking points," co-host Cory Gooding, also a USD political scientist, said.
The podcast hosts join Midday Edition Tuesday to talk about how their weekly podcast extends the lessons taught in their college classrooms to the general public
