San Diego Women's March Expected To Draw Thousands Saturday
On the heels of Donald Trump’s presidential election women across the world came together and marched through the streets of major cities and even some small towns. Their unified voice exclaimed, "women’s rights are human rights".
In recent months that voice hasn’t been so unified as the national organization has splintered due to conflicting views. In an effort to keep the movement going the local chapter has distanced itself from the national chapter.
Frances Carrillo, the chief financial officer of Women’s March San Diego joined Midday Edition to talk about the unique issues women in San Diego are facing.
"This year we are really looking at local San Diego issues so immigration is a top priority for us," Carrillo said.
Carrillo also said justice system reform is another priority of the Women's March San Diego.
The theme for this year's march is "Truth to Power." You can find more information about the Women's March San Diego here
