While the Union-Tribune's Editorial Board has been critical of President Trump, this is the first time the newspaper has called for formal impeachment hearings.

More testimony is expected in Congress this week for the impeachment inquiry against President Trump.

Over the weekend, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff said the whistleblower who filed a complaint about the president's phone call with Ukraine may soon testify before his committee.

After the release of the whistleblower’s complaint and a memo of the call, early polls show more Americans are starting to support the impeachment inquiry. Among them is the editorial board of the San Diego Union-Tribune. The newspaper’s editorial board has published an editorial titled: “Trump Impeachment Probe Needed To Draw A Line On What Presidents Can And Can’t Do."
