The San Diego Chargers will gear up for their game against the San Francisco 49ers by holding an unusual practice session aboard the USS Ronald Reagan at Naval Air Station North Island. It seems only fitting, as the Chargers - 49ers game is the Bolts' 25th annual Salute to the Military game.
The practice will take place on the Reagan flight deck between 11:00 and 11:30 a.m. on August 28.
But before practice even begins, the children of Navy Sailors will show off their skills via NFL Play 60 camp. According to the NFL:
Play 60 is the NFL’s national youth health and fitness campaign focused on increasing the wellness of young fans by encouraging them to be active for at least 60 minutes a day. The children will practice football skills in a non-contact setting, emphasizing exercise, and reinforcing the importance of character in athletics and life.
Play 60 camp starts at 9:00 a.m. in the Reagan's Hangar Bay.
Not to be too much of a NFL apple-polisher, but I really love those Play 60 camp commercials. Here's the one with Cam Newton and the smart aleck kid who gets the better of him. Enjoy!
