The Bush Administration releases regulations to implement the Real ID law, which establishes nationwide standards for what identification people need to show to get a drivers license.
Some states have protested the cost of the program, and the administration has agreed to delay the date the rules take effect. Another complaint against the law is that it denied airport screeners the right to unionize.
