Voting Season Nears Without Frontrunner

All eyes are on Iowa. On Jan. 3, caucus goers open the 2008 presidential voting season. Polls indicate the Democratic and Republican races are too close to call.

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and other potential independent presidential candidates are due to join prominent Republican and Democratic centrists at a meeting on Jan. 7 that will consider the merits of a third-party bid for the White House.
