Scott Peters bugs me and Mike Aguirre is a jerk.
I went for the jerk. Peters recently wrote a letter to the New York Times Book Review in which he trumpeted the hard work of the City Council in turning around our pension mess - readers around the country will of course have no idea that before this glorious phoenix rise was Scott Peters striking the match.
I don't mean to suggest that Peters is any kind of Dick Cheney cretin, but whenever there's a conflict of interest he seems to come down on the side of the country club, his country club(s). &
And the great paid parking debacle in La Jolla is downright scandalous - a junta of paid parking advocates attempted to hijack the Village of La Jolla. Peters personally picked a peck of these paid parking proponents and when the process hit the fan he positioned himself as some sort of open minded peacemaker. Poppycock! He is the last guy I want to see in the City Attorney's office. &
Aguirre's Chicken Little routine is a little exhausting, but he has been right more than a few times about falling skies.
