What It Means To Be A California Republican

As California Republicans gear up for a competitive general election in November, many turned up in San Diego to lend their support to their party. Several Republicans talked about what it means to them to be a part of the GOP in California.

Donald Erwin, a 77-year-old man from San Diego, said: "Our state is a business, we need to grow it as a business. Right now we can get rid of three quarters of the people in government and still carry on the business of government."

Patricia Bowler, from Diamond Bar is a proud mother. She raised her three sons under what she considers Republican values: love of the country, faith and family. For Patricia: "Democrats don't have any values."

Retired reporter Lee Schell, from San Jose, considers that his "goal as a Republican is to preserve the American way of life."

Kelly, from Santa Barbara, works for, an online store and blog dedicated "to educate people on what it means to be a conservative". Kelly sells many patriotic items and she believes in lower taxes and less government.
