  • King Stingray is a story of lifelong friendship. Growing up together in Yirrkala North-East Arnhem Land (a very remote Aboriginal community on in the northern tip of Australia) founding members Theo Dimathaya Burarrwanga (frontman) and Roy Kellaway (guitar) have been playing and making music together for as long as they can remember. The band blend ancient indigenous melodies (Yolŋu Manikay) with surf, indie and funk influences to create their unique “Yolŋu surf-rock” sound which has captivated the nation. Hailed as "one of the most exciting acts in the country today" (NME), King Stingray took out triple j's "Unearthed Artist of the Year" J Award for 2021, NME Australia's "Best New Act From Australia" and Rolling Stone Australia's "Best New Artist" award all before an album was released. Their much-anticipated debut LP "King Stingray" dropped in August 2022, supported by a typically cheeky campaign encouraging fans to take #kingstingday off to celebrate the album’s release. The band was nominated for a whopping five ARIA Awards (including a win for the "Michael Gudinski Breakthrough Artist"). In 2023 the band won the "Australian Music Prize." A total of five singles from the album made it into triple j’s Hottest 100 making it the second most successful Aussie debuts in the history of the countdown. King Stingray on Facebook / Instagram

  • The 13th annual Ramona Art, Wine & Music Festival is returning to Begent Ranch in Ramona, Calif., on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025. One of San Diego County’s most popular festivals, we will have over 50 booths featuring artists, artisans, wineries, and craft beverage makers, with live music all day long! The primary fundraiser at the festival is our famous live auction, featuring wine barrels and furniture embellished by local artists. Once again, one of San Diego’s most popular emcees, the entertaining Josh Lawson, will be our auctioneer. The silent auction will feature 50+ baskets, with something for everyone! By popular demand, we are adding more variety with food trucks. Complimentary catered small bites will therefore no longer be offered, and the good news is that ticket prices have been reduced by $15. Designated Driver tickets are also available. Proceeds from this event benefit the Ramona H.E.A.R.T. Mural Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been beautifying Ramona one mural at a time: currently 31 large-scale murals and counting, plus 17 mini-murals (painted utility boxes). • Regarded as the first major regatta of the year, the San Diego Crew Classic brings together thousands of athletes from more than 100 universities, clubs and high school programs across the United States. Spanning ages 14 – 84, the Crew Classic is a competition for future Olympians as well as for those new to the sport. This event is often a highlight of their competitive rowing careers. The Crew Classic is not only an athletic event with competitors at the peak of physical fitness, but a social gathering for enthusiasts to enjoy great local food, a beer garden with San Diego’s famous local craft breweries, and shopping. The event is held at Mission Bay, just a mile from the Pacific Beach. Many athletes first experience the San Diego Crew Classic as high school competitors. The SDCC is a great introduction to the world of rowing for amateur athletes. It is larger than life — the jumbotron, the considerable number of spectators, and rowing shells as far as the eye can see. For collegiate athletes, the SDCC means a chance to size up the competition from across the nation and to earn rankings which will affect the rest of the season. Alumni of the SDCC can reconnect with former teammates, friends, and coaches. Many alumni continue to race in both alumni and masters’ club events. The Crew Classic is a place to educate your children and family on the beauty of the sport of rowing, the importance of physical activity and a healthy lifestyle, and what it means to be a teammate and to support one another. The San Diego Crew Classic nurtures young athletes as they become socially responsible adults who will pass on the lessons learned from competition. The event welcomes generation after generation to the sport of rowing. Visit: San Diego Crew Classic San Diego Crew Classic on Instagram and Facebook
