As part of OTC at the Brooks’ new film series, Movies at The Brooks, "Jesus Christ Superstar" kicks off the lineup with two free screenings on Easter Sunday at 12:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. With the support of a generous grant from Las Patronas, OTC is proud to bring cinema back to the historic Sunshine Brooks Theater (217 North Coast Highway, Oceanside, CA), now equipped with a state-of-the-art screen and projector. Jesus Christ Superstar is a 1973 American musical historical drama directed by Norman Jewison and co-written by Jewison and Melvyn Bragg. Based on the 1970 concept album by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber, the film stars Ted Neeley, Carl Anderson, Yvonne Elliman, and Barry Dennen. Del Mar Plaza is bringing free live music to the coast all July long during their Seaside Sessions series, held every Thursday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the Ocean View Deck. Using suspended plexiglass, she creates layered, shifting compositions where shadows become an integral part of the artwork—always present yet often overlooked. In a fast-paced world that demands quick judgments, Kane-Murrell invites viewers to slow down, engage in deep looking, and discover the quiet beauty in the fleeting. Her work is a meditation on time, transformation, and renewal, offering a space for contemplation and discovery.
